Q

What CAN I put in a skip?

A

You can put a range of waste into your skip, this includes the following types of waste:

  • Industrial Waste
  • Builders Waste
  • Household Waste
  • Garden Waste
  • Packaging
  • Rubble
  • Wood, Metal, Bricks, Soil and Stone

If you stick with this sort of waste and don’t overfill the skip, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Q

What CAN'T go in a skip?

A

Skips can’t be used for all types of waste, the following need to be disposed of separately in special waste collections:

  • Food Waste
  • Televisions
  • Computer monitors
  • Fridges/Freezers
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Full paint cans
  • Gas Canisters
  • Aerosols
  • Plasterboard
  • Tyres

Also, too much of anything is a bad thing. Skips have a fill line and over filling a skip, even with allowable waste will cause problems with collection as it is dangerous to transport a skip with too much waste.

Q

When will it be delivered / collected?

A

We can usually get a skip out to you within 48 hours or less if required. You can book in the date and time you want your skip delivered and we’ll bring it to you.

When you want the skip picking up, we’ll come and collect it and dispose of the waste responsibly. We’ll do our best to get to you as soon as we can, however we would urge you to be patient, as sometimes things don’t go to plan on previous jobs – particularly if skips are overfilled or contain hazardous waste.

Q

How do I pay?

A

Our online quote system takes the hassle out of payment. You have the option to pay by credit or debit card.

Q

What happens to the waste from my skip?

A

We aim to reuse or recycle 100% of the waste from your skip to landfill.

All waste from skips is processed at a state of the art processing plant in the East Midlands. It is sorted and separated into different types of material including paper, cardboard, glass, wood, metal and soils.

Where possible it is recycled and turned into bio fuel, sold to the construction industry as aggregates or metals for manufacturing.
